Alifeira

A mysterious, higher power has cast a spell over Alifeira; apart from the few remaining residents and some young people who stay for various reasons, it lies in desolation and solitude, in constant and endless anticipation, accompanied only by ancient stones, owls, lizards, and spiders.
The presence of a “stranger” rekindles old, unfulfilled loves and creates new prospects, culminating in the most spirited girl in the group’s obsessive fantasy of opening a cabaret in Alifeira.

Reality is pushed aside. The floodgates of imagination and dreams open wide, providing the building blocks from which Alifeira’s new, majestic edifice will rise from the sand.

Andreas Staikos

A wild, bitter comedy

“Alifeira” was staged by the non-profit theater company “SPITI TIS,” with the support and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.
